In the newest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, I am unable to move a check box without it resizing. No matter what I do, when I try to select the check box to move it, it will not select but only change the size. The arrow doesn't appear to move it. I have used this product for years, but have never had this issue before. The only way I can move it, is if I zoom in on the check box 250 percent. I am very frustrated! Any ideas how to change the setting to make the select object arrow automatically appear?

"2. Use Arrow Keys: Once selected, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the checkbox without resizing it."
Press the Shift key when using the arrow keys to move the field(s) 10 x faster.

Same issue for me. Im suprized no one else is here. My workaround it to zoom in to I am able to select the middle of the text box. Dumb... But it works. I was hoping there was a button I could hold. PAy good money for this and expeced better honestly. If others didint use it as a crutch. I would drop it quick.

When you select field you can move it using arrow keys.

Same issue for me. The zoom-in work-around is better for me than using the arrows.

++ Adding to the valuable suggestions of Mathew and Nesa,
Zooming in is the only work around for this particular issue and it has been identified in earlier versions of Adobe Acrobat, but if you find it annoying, here is another tip:

This let me move what appeared to be some "inner" box but left behind an outer box that I'm unable to move either as described above or by being in "edit PDF". My cursor doesn't seem to "see" that box, so I can't move it, delete it, or anything.

This is a very old Acrobat bug, reported at least 1000 times.
When the zoom is reduced it should assume that the user wants to move the field and not resize it, and therefore display the appropriate cursor.
It should be obvious to developers that when you want to resize a field you necessarily do so with an enlarged zoom, and not the other way round.

If you're unable to move a checkbox without resizing it, try the following steps:
1. Select the Checkbox: Click directly on the checkbox to select it.
2. Use Arrow Keys: Once selected, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the checkbox without resizing it.
Check Lock Aspect Ratio: If you're resizing by accident, check if the "Lock Aspect Ratio" option is enabled in the properties. Disable it if needed.
4. Use the Move Tool: In some applications, using a dedicated "Move" tool instead of directly dragging the checkbox can prevent resizing.
If these steps don't work, consider checking the software's settings or documentation for more specific guidance.

I can't find "Lock Aspect Ratio" in spite of it being mentioned in several places

Hi @bbretton61,
Thanks for reaching out.
As far as I know, Form Fields (Text Box, Button, etc.) can be resized manually, but there’s no built-in “Lock Aspect Ratio” option.
You can know more about Form Field Properties here: https://adobe.ly/3F06gp0;
