Unable to use editing tools.

I have Adobe Acrobat Standard.  When I hit the edit button to edit a PDF, the tools box to the right hand side of the screen is grayed out, and thus I am unable to use it. 

Currently trying to change the color of highlighting tool, and can't change it from black to yellow, etc.  Please someone who knows how to troubleshoot this issue, provide some help.

Highlighting isn't editing, it's commenting. (Editing is changing the page contents only in Acrobat).

If editing is greyed out, however, the document may be locked against editing.

Hi Raheela55319389,

When you click on Edit pdf tool , the formatting options( like font type, size, color etc) on the right remain greyed out until you click inside a bounding box that contains text. So please check if even after have selecting text the options are greyed out.

To change color of the highlighter, go to tools> comment> select highlighter and choose color with the option shown in the screenshot below

Hey, I recently purchased acrobat pro, and I have since been unable to use the edit tool because the program keeps saying that it hasn't done installing the tool yet. It has been like four days. Can someone please help?
