Why did the welcome screen of my Adobe Animate change after I installed Adobe After Effects?

How do you access the other sections? I need to change to Frame to change the sound 

I've updated to Animate 2024 recently, but I can't get code completion to work in my AS3 projects. Keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Space) is set, and "Code hints" checkbox is enabled in preferences. Hinting works fine in 23.0.2

What now?Like many others, I am stunned by Adobe's incredibly stupid decision to discontinue Animate. Like many animators, this software is the cornerstone of my business. I have been an animator for 20 years and now I will have to start from scratch with new software that I will have to pay for in addition to the Adobe suite.Because, contrary to what Adobe would have us believe, there is no equivalent Adobe software that will allow me to produce animations as quickly and easily as Animate. After Effects is simply not suited to animation, and anyone who has ever worked on Animate knows that a 2D vector project is incredibly easier and faster to work on in Animate than in After Effects. So forget that!So now what software should I choose?Toon Boom? $147 per month??? Seriously?? Twice the price of the entire Creative Suite???In short, I'm lost... Everything works fine in Animate but when I publish it there is no music. When I publish as a .swf the sound is there. When I put it out as a .mp4 it doesn’t play the sound.I want it to be an .mp4. How do I do that?

Hi! I'm looking for help recovering a corrupted Adobe Animate FLA file called flutterbat halloween.fla.My PC unexpectedly shut down, and afterward Animate showed “An error occurred opening file.” The file is approximately 46 MB, but it won't open. I checked Auto-Recovery, found no recovery file, and tried WinRAR's repair feature without success. I also checked OneDrive, but couldn't find a previous version.I have a copy of the damaged FLA available. Would you be able to inspect it and determine whether any of the animation, timeline, layers, or assets can be recovered? Please let me know whether any of ya offer this service and whether there is a fee before I send the file.Thank you!

I just switched to a new computer (Windows) and installed Animate. Now whenever I used the Classic Brush tool, each stroke starts out as slightly transparent with a lined pattern inside. This pattern disappears when I release my pen and the stroke returns to normal. This doesn’t interfere with the drawing, but it’s definitely annoying. The Fluid Brush or Pencil do not have the same issue.Here is a video of what it looks like.Is this an issue with Animate itself? Or does this indicate something else like a driver problem? I use a Cintiq 16.

Now that Adobe Animate is going away, what alternatives are there for those of us that used it for HTML5 banners? Anything other than Google Web Designer? Not a fan of that and hope Adobe plans to have other vector based animation that will export HTML5 banners for web ads?

Hello I’m new to Animate,When I try to run “Import Motion XML” command whilst selecting the symbol on the stage, It spits out an error saying:At line 1 of file “MotionXML.jsfl”:SyntaxError: xml is a reserved identifierI looked up online what is causing this just to be turned towards 1 unsolved question and adobe’s help page on how to import XML files. Is there an updated version of the command?

Hello friends, I need some help. I created an application using ActionScript 3.0, and I want to generate an .apk file. However, I’m unable to publish the apk, and I’m getting this error message as shown in the attached image. I believe I followed the same steps I usually do, but this time something went wrong. Why is this happening? 

I’m working on incrementing a dynamic text field over time. I’ve tried a few different methods but the Ticker seems to be the best, but for some reason I keep getting a “Cannot set properties of undefined (setting 'text')” error when trying to set the field in the Ticker function.I’ve tried setting the text field outside the function and it works just fine. I’ve also tried initializing the text field in a frame well in advance of the function, but that didn’t help either. If I send the function output to the console instead of the text field, it works just fine.Here’s my code. I’m writing an add-on for Adobe Animate—purely within Animate itself, without the Flex SDK. It was built for the 2022 version, so I’m not sure if it will run on the 2026 version. I do have a ready-made .swf file for version 0.1, though it doesn't have many features implemented yet.

What programs can I use to replace Adobe Animate (since Adobe is ending support)? I need to save in html format. Even some non Adobe programs.

I started adobe animate recently since it’s been sitting in my desk for a while and I’ve never use it until yesterday. I was originally going to animate an Undertale fan animation and I thought I knew what I was doing but it isn’t enough. There are so many things that I still don’t know about and I’ve been running with so many issues that Chatgpt isn’t being too helpful. I need a real person with experiences someone who can help me guide where I need to go. When I was using an, I selected a part of a shape that hadn't been converted to a symbol, and it disappeared on its own when selected (I didn't press any keys)

I’m learning Adobe Animate and want to improve the smoothness of character movements. What techniques do you recommend for better timing, spacing, and transitions when creating simple actions like walking or turning?

Sometimes I open Animate and it doesn't find the Google Font "Paprika"—even though it's installed. I'm using Windows XP. If I close and reopen the program, it finds it... but sometimes it goes days without finding it.Thanks.
