When I tried to convert a file from PDF to WORD.DOC it opened as Read Only and I'm unable to alter any of the text.  How do I solve this problem?  I don't know how to change it from Read Only.

    Hi Sara.

Thanks for your suggestion, and earlier today I downloaded a 30-day trial of Acrobat.  Using that, I once again tried to convert a pdf file into a Word document, but am sorry to say the result is the same as before - I'm unable to enter any text because the document contains Pictures, and the words on the first page heading are again on top of each other.

    I'm using Windows 7 and Word 2010.

As the Adobe ExportPDF program doesn't work on my computer, can you tell me how I go about getting a refund for the £19.33 purchase price?

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Judith.

    Hi Judith,

I'm sorry that the subscription didn't work out for you. I've canceled it and processed a full refund since you canceled within the first 30 days.

    Best,

    Sara

    Hi Judith Dee,

In addition to what Mandeep suggests, have you also tried triple-clicking the text in the Word doc?

If you're still having trouble, we will want to take a closer look at how the PDF was created. Did it start out as a scanned document? When you open the document in Word, does the page appear to be an image, rather than text?

    Sara

Thanks for your reply.  The document I'm trying to convert is a Lasting Power of Attorney form downloaded from the gov.uk website, which enables the user to type data into the various boxes and then it can be saved as a pdf.  I tried to convert the saved pdf into a Word doc so that any amendments can easily be made, but I'm unable to make any changes because the data is all "pictures" (Picture Tools is shown in the tool bar), therefore it's not possible to type anything into it - I presume this means the page is an image rather than text.  No amount of triple-clicking has any effect!

    Hi Judith Deadman

Click on Enable Editing in the Yellow Message bar ..

Or Refer : Enable Editing for All Office 2010 Documents by Disabling Protected View

Thanks for your reply.  I've tried this without success.  The data on the pages seems to be images rather than text - I had expected it to be a regular Word document which I could enter data into.

    Hi Judith Dee,

Would you like me to take a closer look at the file in question? I wouldn't want to see any personal information in the form, but if you were to either send me a link to the file, or send me a blank copy of the PDF, I would be happy to see how conversion works on my end.

    Best,

    Sara
