If you originally registered your product the serial number will be stored in your Adobe Account.

Sign in with your Adobe ID (email address & password) and choose the tab “Plans & Products”

Then view your products. Every registered application should be shown with serial numbers.

To see a list of your registered products and their serial numbers, go to My Account

i registered it with the serial number I have and asks for an older one and i don’t have any serial number other than the one i gave in the “plans & products”. There is no help number as well.

Did you at one time have either Lightroom 1 or Lightroom 2, and then purchased the upgrade to Lightroom 3?

If so, your Lightroom 3 serial number won't work unless you ALSO properly enter the serial number of your earlier version of Lightroom.

If you have upgraded to Lightroom 3 from either Lightroom 2 or Lightroom 1, you would need the serial number from Lightroom 2 or Lightroom 1, as well as the number for Lightroom 3. If you don't have it, you might be able to recover it from the instructions here: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-your-serial-number.html

If you still have the earlier version of Lightroom running, you can find it in the proper file on your computer: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/preference-file-locations-lighroom-3.html

In either case, you want to keep a record of all of your serial numbers for all of your software, so that from now on they are easy to find.
