I got Fatal Error Code  146:

- 2 fatal error(s), 0 error(s), 3 warnings(s)

FATAL: Error (Code = 146) executing in command 'MoveFileCommand' for package: 'AdobeLightroom-mul', version:7.0.1.1142117

FATAL: Error occurred in install of package (Name: AdobeLightroom-mul Version: 7.0.1.1142117). Error code: '146'

WARN: Unable to delete directory "C:\Program Files\Adobe". Error 32 The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.. Check and correct folder & parent directory permissions and then try again.

WARN: Warning (Code = 149) executing command DeleteDirectoryCommand

WARN: Unable to move file at "C:\adobeTemp\ETRE6AD.tmp\1\Adobe Lightroom Classic CC\HD_Deleter.exe" to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic CC\HD_Deleter.exe" Error 5 Access is denied.. Try setting correct permissions to the specified file/folder or parent folder, so that admin has rights to modify it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Solution it recommends is that I should Rename the File and Try again......What File am I supposed to Rename?

I have tried several times with no Luck.

Has anyone out there had this issue?

Thanks,

Robert Torres

OK, I just was able to resolve the problem.

  1. Restart the computer
  2. Uninstall Lightroom Classic CC from the Adobe Creative Cloud application
  3. Restart the computer
  4. Install Lightroom Classic CC from the Adobe Creative Cloud application

Perhaps too many restarts, but you can never be to careful when clearing up file locking issues.

This is on Windows 10 v 1709

I have this error and the strangest thing is even as an administrator (run powershell as administrator) I cannot delete, inspect or change anything on the file "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic CC\HD_Deleter.exe"
