Re: Creative Cloud Desktop does not download

I too cannot download CC onto my computer running Windows 10.  It just comes up with error message 1.  I have followed all the steps mentioned above about 5 times but to no avail.  Please is anyone out there able to help?

I have repeated the above steps around 10 times now with no luck. I even logged on as the secret administrator but still had no luck.  I did a Windows 10 search as well and it came up with the answer Creative CC incompatible program.  I don't know what else I can do.  I am running C6 and Lightroom 5.7 at the moment but would dearly love to upgrade to the CC program.

Bearsnbeads were you able to successfully locate the OOBE folder?  Did you receive any error messages when running the CC Cleaner Tool?

As an alternative you can utilize the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application uninstaller utility, available for download, at Uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application​.

Here is what I have found after doing the uninstall.  It looks like a proxy setting problem but I don't know enough about it to attempt to fix it.  Any help would be gratefully accepted thanks (I have a VPN and have tried downloading CC both with the VPN running and with it turned off with the same result)  I also found the OOBE file but not sure what I am looking for?

Bearsnbeads it looks like you are using a 32-bit version of Windows 10 is this correct?  If so I found details on how to update the proxy settings at Windows 10 Build 9879 proxy server settings - Microsoft Community

You did mention that you are using a VPN.  This would seem to indicate that you are connecting to a network of some type.  If your computer is managed by an I.T. department then I would recommend involving them with verifying the proxy settings are correct.  If your computer is managed it may be impossible for you to affect the needed changes yourself.

I have tried all of the above.  I don't have a proxy server and all the settings are set to reflect the proxy settings indicated on your link.  I do have a VPN but it is for my own private use.  I have tried downloading with and without the VPN.   I am not on a network, just a home computer.  I have tried installing Photoshop and Lightroom separately, and again as administrator, but it always stops at 43%.  Can't think of anything else I can possibly do.  I am at my wits end.  The only thing I can think of is to get a computer expert to come and sort it out unless you can think of any other solution?

Bearsnbeads are you continuing to receive the same error in the DLM.log or is there a different error?  Can you ping the address in the DLM log successfully without any packet failure?

No, still no success, message appears to be the same every time I try and download Photoshop or Lightroom.  Not sure what you mean by pinging the address in the DLM log successfully without any packet failure so can't check that one out. Below is part of the latest error message

Bearsnbeads the files appear to be downloading successfully although I am a bit concerned that repeatedly the following error is showing up in the DLM.log.

Do you use a proxy server?  The downloads appear to be completed successfully because of the following:

This would seem to indicate that the download process is unable to read your proxy configuration but is then able to adapt an use a single stream download to obtain the required files.

I would recommend you review your proxy settings and try temporarily disabling the proxy if possible to see if you experience the same errors.

Jeff, I can't seem to attach the image with my proxy settings but they are as follow:

LAN settings

Automatically detect settings is ticked

Use Automatic configuration is NOT ticked

The Proxy Server is NOT ticked

No other boxes are ticked.

These are the settings recommended by Adobe and Windows 10

Still can't download CC at all

Bearsnbeads are you using a proxy server or not?  The DLM log indicates you are.  Your post in message #10 you state you can't post a picture because of your proxy settings.  Then you state the proxy setting is turned off.

Do you manage your local network yourself?  Do you work with an Internet Service Provider to connect to the Internet?

At the moment we are in a rental and our wifi internet provider is TPG (we are in Australia)

Annelies you will likely need to speak with the rental agency as they are managing the laptop. 

You are welcome to post a screen shot following the steps that are listed at FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video? but if you are renting the laptop then it is likely being managed by the owners.  I would contact them and make them aware you are facing difficulty updating or installing Adobe Creative software.

The computer is mine and a PC not a laptop. Private rental and the owners wouldn't have a clue about anything technical. We will be back in our own home by mid December so maybe I will try again then. I did want to take advantage of a special monthly price available to end of December so hope to get it sorted then. I will keep you posted as to the result when I get home.
