"Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organization or serial number is missing or invalid"

My computer had a new HD and thus I had to reinstall my CS, but activation failed since it has been taken down.
So I was directed to a page where I downloaded and installed another CS including the serial #.

After installation, when I try to start it, I get the above message and then Photoshop quits.

I was directed to this place after login with my Adobe Id:
Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products

where I downloaded the english CS2 for Windows version.


The funny thing is that the PS splash screen has all the information and it didn't complain when I installed and entered the serial number!?

I'm on Win7 if that's important.

Yes, I installed Photoshop and Illustrator from the CS2 package that I downloaded.PS-splashscreen.jpg

I am also having this same error message, and I also had to re-install the CS2 Suite (new computer prompted our license to not work).  I tried two re-install sessions, hoping it was just a bad install process.  No luck so far.

did you use the files from Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3 to install your program?

if yes, did you use the posted serial number?

unless you answered yes and yes, correct that.

Yes, those are the files I used, and Yes the posted Serial number (from website).

Ahh…original computer the license was purchased for was 32-bit os, my new machine is 64 bit…incompatible os requirements causing issue?

not really, but you can always use compatibility mode to install an older program on a newer win os.

I have updated to CS6 with a discount and support via Skype from some Adobe Help and Support, but otherwise I can confirm doing it the same way as Kathleen.

I've just now downloaded the files, and have not installed it yet, but just in case this helps, in the screenshot you posted showing the splash screen, the number at the bottom doesn't match the one I got from the download page, which was 1130-0412-8377-1896-9751-5759.  Your screenshot shows 11301414756944456613.
