3D Effect color is darker than the color I've chosen [Was: 3d effect]

Hello! I applied the 3d effect to the rectangular frame, I want the stroke of the frame to be exactly the same colour as the text, but when i apply the colour, it's darker than the text for some reason . . .  Any help would be appreciated! (pic below)

    You can set "No Color" to Stroke and remove it from 3d Text. Use Appearance Panel after selecting 3d Object for easy performance or remove stroke before processing 3d effect.

    Sorry, wrong direction direction: then moving the copy the desired amount to the right, > then moving the copy the desired amount to the left, of course.

    While I agree in general with what has been said above that this is a difficult way to achieve the results that nadrojxinnam is looking for, it depends on the purpose of the exercise. If he/she is trying to learn how the 3d tool works or is doing a school assignment, then there is a way to achieve the desired results. In the 3d panel, simply turn off shading (see below) which will turn off the lighting aspect that the 3d tool automatically applies and which generally is what makes your object look 3d. Since you are coloring the side, that will make it look dimensional without changing the color.

    It's darker because 3D Effect is trying to emulate shading in the rendering of a 3D model.

    As Jacob alludes, if all you are trying to do is create what looks like an extruded panel (especially one with no shading), you'd be better off just drawing it. You are creating a ridiculously complicated construct by using 3D Effect just for that.

    As a general rule, it's best to avoid strokes in path that you're using for 3D Effect whenever you can. Many beginners with 3D Effect don't realize that the plug-in is actually extruding both edges of a stroke as separate surfaces. That often generates unwanted artifacts and stacking-order problems.

    How about just dropping the 3D in favour of a simple copy of the frame behind, Ctrl/Cmd+C+B, then moving the copy the desired amount to the right, then changing the fill colour to that of the text?
