White space around my drawing, why?

Hi, I am sure that it should be easy to answer but I have not found the right setting. My drawing is is in the middle of my art board but when I want to export, my drawing is very small and I end up with a lot of white space around it. Usually, my drawing is not attached to the white board and when I save or export, only my drawing is saved or exported. How can I get my drawing to normal size?

    When finished, try going to Object>Artboard>Fit to Artwork Bounds and see if that solves the problem.


    Unfortunately, I already tried that but it does not make a difference. It is almost like I have a hidden object outside my drawing but doing a select all, even if the invisible element should appear somewhere.
