It appears to be a server-related error. I would move the file and its links to your local computer and try opening it from there.

If you cannot do that, then you need to consult your server administrator.

Which version of InDesign and OS?

Had you added a Hyperlink to an InDesign document?

No unusual hyperlinks. Only links to files on our server.

It's not clear what led to this issue – can you be more descriptive?

I have little information. The program hasn't been opened in weeks. Then when it was opened today this error showed up. It appears that files can still be opened, edited and saved. I want to ensure this error will not cause any problems. I am not entirely sure what the link is for in the first place

I uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign but the error persists.

Hi there,

We’re so sorry to hear about this. I agree with Steve for saving the files on local HDD as backup. After that please try resetting preferences for InDesign (Set preferences in Adobe InDesign ) and let us know if that helps.

Resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and InDesign will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

Regards,

Srishti
