Text wrap unavailable on an image with a caption -- how can I enable it?

I just placed an image on a page, then added a caption using Object > Captions > Generate Static Caption.  I placed the caption below the image.  After adding the caption the Text Wrap dialog box is all disabled, can't change anything.  The distance between the caption and the text that continues below it is too big and I need to reduce it.  Help!  (I'm on InDesign CC, Windows 10).

Turn off text wrap on the image. Group the image and caption, restore text wrap. Note that you can group the image and caption automatically when you generate captions.

You can change it in caption set up. Right click on your image:Screen Shot 2017-10-02 at 9.40.00 AM.pngScreen Shot 2017-10-02 at 9.40.11 AM.png

The combination of both answers may be what you need: First delete the caption. Then go back to Caption Setup to refine the caption offset distance, then group. Regenerate the caption(s) and apply text wrap to the group(s).

Thank you both for the responses, very helpful.  I also found that I had to double-click on the image to select it by itself, and this enabled the normal Text Wrap options which weren't available when I single-clicked on the new image/caption, which apparently InDesign groups as one object.

apparently InDesign groups as one object.

Only if you tell it to as per the screen shots above. You must have already had the group enabled.

Once objects are grouped, you can double click with the Selection tool (black arrow)  to get to the objects within the group, or single click with the Direct Select tool (white arrow) without having to ungroup.
