I think I am adding images incorrecting. I am creating a box and placing a transparent png image file. I can see shading in the boxes. How do fix this problem?
I took a brief class in InDesign, but am a novice.
Thank you,

Hi,
Please indicate what Operating System and InDesign version you are using. Also, a couple of screenshots would help us locate the source of the issue.
There are some areas to check.

Adobe InDesign19 on Windows 7 Professional.
It happens on print. I can't see it on my screen in InDesign or in the PDF file. I tried your suggestion and checked for drop shadows on all images.
I am going to try Bob's suggestion below for printing.
Thank you

Seeing it where? On screen? In print?
If it's print, does this cover it: https://indesignsecrets.com/eliminating-ydb-yucky-discolored-box-syndrome.php

I'm think you may have changed your defaults for effects.
Deselect everything and in the Effects panel (Window > Effects). see if there's an fx icon next to one of the listings. If there is, click on the listing and press the Trash at the bottom of the panel.
All new Graphic Frames should work normally now, with no Shadow Effect.
