Cannot Add Photos - stuck on preparing...

I have always been a fan of Lightroom but having upgraded to New Lightroom CC (1.1) I am on the verge of giving up and moving on...

I have a couple of basic issues that I still haven't manage to work through:

1. When looking to import photos for certain directories the Lightroom process hangs and is stuck on the 'Preparing...' stage of the import (click add photos, select directory, click on add 'xxx' photos). It seems that sometimes reopening the software, rebooting the machine or even leaving the computer for a couple for days solves the problem but to be honest it is unclear if this is specific to files, the import batch gets stuck or something like a memory leak. Does anyone else have similar problems? I think that maybe some process is stuck in the background that needs to be cleared in order to import that batch again. Any insight would be appreciated.

2. I am syncing quite a few photos to the cloud (120K or so) but after finishing the sync Lightroom states that some photos did not upload. It doesn't tell me which ones or how many and from looking at the differences between the records it is around 400 or so. Does anyone know if there are log files or something that might help me understand what is not syncing?

Thanks in advance as I work through this painful transition.. I am normally one to embrace the latest and greatest but OMG this is a stretch...

Thanks

Kim

As this is a user to user forum Kim, posting on here may help as Adobe staff watch it:

As for 2. Alt-Click on the Cloud Icon may help to idenify them... it’s a bit buggy though for me.

Thank you.  I appreciate the fast response. Thanks for the link to the forum and the alt-click - I will check that out.
