Lightroom v9.5 Is Live! Extend Photos with Generative Expand, Refine Masks with Precision, and Edit More Smoothly The August 2026 update to Adobe Lightroom (version 9.5) introduces AI-powered photo expansion, more precise masking controls, and performance enhancements to help photographers and creators work more efficiently and stay in flow. What’s New:Lightroom (version 9.5) brings more control and flexibility to everyday creative workflows with the introduction of Generative Expand, one of the release's most significant additions. This new Firefly-powered feature lets you extend photos beyond their original borders and intelligently generate content that blends naturally with the existing image, making it easier to recover poorly framed shots, create new aspect ratios for social media and marketing formats, reconstruct missing edges, or fill transparent gaps left behind after perspective corrections. Photographers can choose between Firefly Fill & Expand, which generates multiple
Adobe is excited to receive requests for additional features you need to enhance your workflow. What can you do to increase the chances of being heard? Don't use the words "Feature Request" in your post's title. Search for and add to existing feature requests rather than creating duplicates. There is no advantage to creating a second request for any existing feature request. One request per thread! When creating an Idea or Feature Request thread, please keep requests for features to ONE request per thread. Doing this will allow others to vote on a single, specific feature and not confuse Upvotes amongst a list of feature requests. If an Idea thread has multiple requests in it, a moderator may ask you to split the multiple requests up into multiple threads so others can vote. In the event there remain multiple requests on a thread, the first item requested will be the arbiter of where the thread will be cross-referenced or merged. Describe how the feature will help your workflow. Des
After the update, during a cropping process there will be a red vertical and horisontal line forcing the image to be centered. We dont want to be forced to crop in the center, we want to crop the image freely like before. Thanks
After the Lightroom 11.5 update on Android 16 (Samsung S24 Ultra, OneUI 8.5), we can not any longer make minor adjustments when cropping and moving an image, as it jumps back and forth due to the guidelines "guiding" the photo. Before the guidelines were introduced yesterday, everything worked flawlessly. We really need to be able to make minor adjustments without these restrictions, just like we used to!Thank you.
This post applies to the Project Indigo iOS camera app. Adobe Labs is excited to share an early look at Project Indigo, an iPhone camera app we've started to develop, to get feedback from the photography community. The app offers full manual controls, a more natural ("SLR-like") look, and high image quality in both JPEG and raw formats. It also introduces some new photographic experiences not available in other camera apps. For more information on the underlying technology, please refer to this Project Indigo blog post. Before you start with Project Indigo We recommend using Project Indigo on iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max or newer devices.(Also supported are 12 Pro/Pro Max, 13 Pro/Pro Max, and all 14-series devices.) You should have at least 1GB of storage space left for the app, the downloadable AI Models inside the app, and for captured photos. Download the app from the App Store. Check out the Project Indigo FAQ, which is updated reg
(MacOS) I'm about to lose my Adobe subscription (graduation) and mostly want to make sure that I don't lose my 15,000 photo library that I have in Lightroom. I have the storage to move it to either a cloud or an external hard drive, but I'm struggling to know the best way to go about it. What would be the best way to make sure I have a backup somewhere? Both catalog but also the actual photos. I'm also confused about where I can find my Lightroom library. I'm using Lightroom CC, and can't find my photo library in the Creative Cloud application. On the home page, under "recents" some photos show up, but I can't find the rest of them in the app. I thought I was supposed to be able to since the photos aren't being stored anywhere else on my computer?Sorry for the rambly post, two seperate questions/issues really. Thanks for your help.
When I go to crop an image in Lightroom, the default zoom level of ‘Fit’ appears broken.Every other options works as expected. Reclicking on ‘Fit’ does not resolve issue, nor does selecting a different option and switching back to fit. It’s been an issue for a couple months, the only thing that fixes it is going back to older versions of the software. Please adviseM4 Pro, Lightoom 9.3+
Any suggestions
There is bug in the lightroom mobile application, where users can freely edit the premium presets and need not take the subscription. This is for both ios and android. You just have to perform one step after editing the pictures and in less than 1 sec your premium subscription based presets are applied freely for your images
I'm primarily a Lightroom Classic user but use the cloud-version on my ipad so I also. have it installed on my Macbook. Today I discovered that "Community" and "Learn" takes up a lot of screen space on the left side panel. But I can't find out how to remove these from my left panel. I use Lightroom for my own photos and have no interest in using it for browsing other peoples photos. Do I have to go back to a previous version or will this bug be fixed?
LR Mobile 11.4.20 - iPhone 17PM - iOs 26.5.2 Just completed the latest LR Mobile update and went to work. Immediately I noticed that I cannot make any fine cropping adjustments. Image in crop mode jumps to +/-50 and straight back to zero. Nothing in-between, unfortunately.
After using Remove tool for AI removal once or twice it freezes lightroom so I can't click anything and has a select remove to get started blue box. Nothing works. Have to restart again and again. I open up lightroom, remove one item or maybe a few at times, then it freezes and I’m unable to click anything and unable to get back to the remove tool. It just shows the select remove to get started box. I have a project to get to a client tonight so this is very frustrating that I have to re-open lightroom again and again. I updated to the latest version and it still gives me this issue. Also the yellow AI updating is not working at all.
After few minutes of working the sidebar (where you can click and open edit mode, or info mode, or crop) disappear and only a solid grey rectangle is present
how do I recreate the smart album for photos without keywords in the cloud based version please
I cannot understand why some tools are implemented on only the mobile (iPad/Phone/Web) platforms. One example is "Add Border and Share" - this should be on all platforms (especially the desktop version) .. Maybe this is down to the feature name "share". Would a better name be "Export with Border"
Please add “Add borders & share “ or “add borders” option to Lightroom and Lightroom classic. Why would you only make this option available for the mobile apps? Borders on photos is a massively used tool for many photographers professionally posting and print photos for clients and family. It’s an easy update why are you not doing this? So frustrating…...
I use the autorotate feature in the crop mode all the time. It would be even better if there was a keyboard shortcut that adjusted the image similar to how Shift-A applies auto-settings so the task is even quicker/easier to do.
The ability to toggle between the original image and the modified one using the “\” key is invaluable. Similarly, it would be amazing if you could easily toggle between before and after the last change without having to do keyboard gymnastics.
I just have to open Lightroom, let it load, and then go to “windows” menu. The only one that works is the minimize menu. At the same time my external disc in which I keep my Lightroom library does not link. I receive “file not found” when I try to develop. I use a MacBook Pro. The operating software is Tahoe 26.5.2.
On mac os tahoe 26.3.2, the spacebar “zoom to fit” stops working correctly after zooming into a couple of photos. I expect the image to fit to whatever working window the app has available. But when it stops working and I hit spacebar, the zoomed image seems to be zoomed to fit to a completely different window size, it’s maddening. The only way to fix it is to reload one of the ui elements (as in, hide the editing pane and reshow it). It works properly while I edit another image or two, then it invariable breaks.
Tryin g to assign a Tamron lens profile to images in the latest (as of today) Lightroom Desktop on Mac, OS 26.6.When I select Tamron, the program jumps back to none. I then have to do it again for it to work. This is happening 100% of the time on two different MacBooks. To be clear, it works after two attempts each time, so it's not a setting issue.
Hi everyone,I'm hoping someone has seen this issue before because I've exhausted almost every troubleshooting step.SystemAdobe Lightroom 9.4.1 Windows 11 Home HP Pavilion Plus 16 Intel Core Ultra 7 155H NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU (6 GB) Intel Arc integrated GPUProblemLightroom reports:"The graphics processor has detected an unrecoverable error."GPU acceleration becomes disabled and AI Denoise takes around 4–5 minutes per RAW image. However, when I run AI Denoise directly from Adobe Camera Raw on the exact same RAW file, it finishes in about 50 seconds. This makes me believe the GPU hardware itself is working correctly. What I've already triedComplete NVIDIA driver removal using DDU Clean installation of the latest NVIDIA Studio Driver Older NVIDIA drivers Full Lightroom uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool Deleted Lightroom preferences Deleted Lightroom cache Reinstalled Lightroom from scratch Forced Lightroom to use the RTX 4050 in Windows Graphics Settings Configured High
Since I updated lightroom it has been deleting any edits that I make on the remove tab if I try to toggle the "hide adjustments" button, essentially the same as if I hit the reset button next to it. Is this a bug with the update, how do I fix this?
Hello,I am experiencing a persistent and reproducible problem when trying to export or convert photos from my Lightroom cloud library, and I would appreciate your help investigating it.Summary of the issueWhen I select a large batch of photos (several hundred to several thousand) and run "Export Originals," the process regularly stalls partway through — sometimes after only a few dozen images, sometimes after several hundred. The progress indicator simply stops advancing, with no error message and no further disk or network activity after a short time. The problem is specific to JPEG-sourced images. RAW files export without any issues, both with and without GPU acceleration enabled. It is not limited to a handful of individual files — it recurs across entire series of JPEGs (in my case, digitized scans from negatives and slides, all processed the same way), which rules out isolated file corruption as the cause.I have also tried "Render to DNG" as a workaround, since DNG output does not
