Question

Batch Processing Rated Files

Hoping someone can help me:

Do photos for school portraits and upload files thru the following hierarchy

Date of Shoot (folder) --> Folder for each subject

Within the folder of each subject I rate and edit certain files (raw files)

I then do image processing and select include all subfolders and save it to a new folder that matches the date of the shoot but with the words "proofs" added to it. I run Image Processor to save JPG files with the  "Keep Folder Structure" function so that the "proofs file" is identical to the original folder but with only jpgs.

Since Image Processor processes all the files I then have to go back into the jpg folders to delete the unrated/edited jpgs. Is there a way to make it so that it only processes rated files within folders.

I use Image Processor Pro

I do not know of a way to do repurpose files by their rating.

I have a secondary "0utakes Folder" away from the files I am working on where I put all my Out Takes.

Since each assignment I shoot starts with a 4 digit File Number I create a folder in each called "XXXX 0utakes"

XXXX = 4 digit Assignment Number "0utakes" is purposely started with a 0 (Zero) so it floats to the top of the directory.

Image Processor Pro has been my hammer for 15 years now.

This is my workaround.

You would use Adobe Bridge to view all files, using the view menu to untick the option to view folders and ticking the option to view all files from subfolders. Then use the filter panel to include/exclude based on criteria such as rating metadata. Then select all images and use the Tools menu > Photoshop > Image Processor or the more capable Image Processor Pro scripts to batch process using the Bridge selected images as the source.

When I do it thru Bridge all the files save in a generic JPG folder but I need it to retain the original folder structure. Does the Image Processor Pro work with Adobe CC2019?

Image Processor has settings for saving to the original folder and or retaining directory structure… But yes, Image Processor Pro works with CC2018 and I am not aware of any issues on newer versions.
