Comparing .png image vs .tiff image, are they same in quality?

Hi. I'm new here. I am confused in two images, one is in .PNG and other one is in.tiff format. I want to know if both are same in quality(bit depth, resolution and other technical specs.) or are they different.  And also suggest me which format should I use. Here is the link for both images:

Link for .png file: 100000x100000-999 (1).png - Google Drive

Link for .tiff file: 100000x100000-999.tiff - Google Drive

As far as I know both Tiff and Png file formats support color profiles and 16 bit color depth. So I would think if you edit a raw file converted into a  16bit color depth in some color space the you can save  a Tiff and Png Image the will have the same quality. the same quality you can save as a PSD.  A big difference may be that Tiff cans also be saved with layers where the png file format does not supports saving layers.

I did not look at them.  You did not state how they were created,  If you want to compare them. Open them in Photoshop select the move tool hold the shift key down and drag the png document over the Tiff document and drop.  If the images are the same size the document should look the same.  Change the top layer blending mode to difference.  If the composite image turns all black the images pixels are the same.

Hi

Many of us are reluctant to click on links in posts where we do not know the source.

JJMack has given you the steps you can take to compare the images and described how to use the difference blending mode. If two layers are identical then difference will show as completely black

I wrote I see nt reason that you can not create identical images in Tiff and PNG file formats.  That Tiff cans save Information like Layers where PNG can not.  So there are differences is file formats features.  You are not required to save layers or even have layers. Many image file formats do not support saving layers.   I wrote how you can compare image.  You need do better learning about image processing.  You should compare the images yourself if you want to know if the are the same.  I write they are but I never looked at them. Am I right are they the same image.  Sure they are the same.  I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale are you interested.
