Could not save as....

On my knees and begging for the answer:

I'm running Photoshop CS6 on Mojave

Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0 (13.0 20120315.r.428 2012/03/15:21:00:00) x64

Operating System: Mac OS 10.14.1

I have recently start encountered a problem while trying to save a file, in any format, to any location, with any name and I constantly get the error message

Could not save as “.............. .jpg” because the file is already in use or was left open by another application.

I would be super grateful if someone could point me i the direction of a fix.

Cheers,

Barry

Not to beat a dead horse, but... we are up to version 20.0.1... time to upgrade.

I am now finding this very same problem with CS 2018 Photoshop on Mac OS Mojave. Happens about 50% of the time, on different files. Very annoying as I use Photoshop CS for my business. All I can do is a "Save As' to get around the issue. The original file remains in the Finder renamed as "Adobe Photoshop CC 201851024226649023" or similar, and it will actually reopen okay. Has anyone any ideas why this is happening?

Try resetting your Photoshop preferences, which you can do under the General tab in Photoshop preferences.

Or subscribe to the Photography plan to get the latest version of Photoshop (and Lightroom if you want it) for around $10 a month.
