Files seem like they are corrupted when opening

Hi all, I am really struggling with a constant issue with Photoshop CC; Whenever I try to open an image file it appears corrupted - the only way I can bypass this is to open the image, select copy and then paste it to the layer I am working on when I just need to open and use it as a separate layer. I am using a MacBook 2015. Screenshot attached which shows how an image file opens in PS. Has anyone else seen this or got a fix for it?

If this is about png files and you forgot to mention that try disabling

Preferences > Plug-Ins > Allow Extensions to Connect …

Preferences > Plug-Ins > Load Extension Panels

Thank you. Yes, this is png files only (I have just tested a jpeg and it opens fine). I have just disabled the two options you suggest and the problem remains.

Try restarting Photoshop after making the changes

I assume you're opening .png images

Try disabling these options in preferences
