Help with Filter Gallery in Photoshop

Hi, I'm having some trouble with Filter Gallery in Photoshop.

When I click to open Filter Gallery on my image, it won't open. The image is set to RGB and 8 Bits/Channel. When I click on Filter Gallery, it applies the effect that I last used in Filter Gallery (on a separate image) but it won't actually open the gallery. It just applies my most recent effect. What can I do so that I can open the Filter Gallery?

Thank you all for your help. It's working fine this morning, I believe something happened where the Filter Gallery button was showing in place of the Last Filter button.

The top of the menu under Filter will show the last filter you applied. Take a look at Trevor’s screen. It shows that the last filter Trevor used was Camera Raw.

When you pick the last used filter it reapplies the same settings you used previously. You have to choose the filter from further down the list if you want to start over. It sounds to me like you were applying the filter gallery that was previously used from the top of the menu.
