How do I remove metadata when saving jpeg file for export to flash drive?

Hello,

I'm trying to display a slideshow of jpeg photos drawn from a flash drive on to a Samsung Monitor. I am using PS CS5 on an IMac.

Presently All the jpegs display ok, but along with what I think are an equal number of sidecar files carrying

all the metadata. Everytime I want to run the slideshow I must select just the jpeg images not the blank dups that are showing.

A very tedious and unsatisfying process!

Is there any way to save the images without the metadata "sidecar" files?

I've read that using Save For Web & Devices with no metadata might do the job.  Also read that saving the jpegs in Baseline not

Progressive Format might work.

Anyone know what I need to do?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mark

Save for web can strip metadata.  Sidecar files are created by ACR they are not needed for the slide show do  not copy them to the flash drive. Just copy the jpeg files created using saved for web without metadata.

Mr. Mack,

Thanks for getting back to me. I am somewhat of a newbie in this. Let me see if I understand your imput.

Presently, when I insert my flash drive in my Samsung Monitor I so the jpegs I want to show in a slideshow ALONG with an equal number of files I'm guessing carry the metadata. Unfortunately, these extra visible files stymie the show and I have to select ONLY the live jpegs each time I want to start a slideshow.

What I'm attempting to discover is the process by which I can delete or eliminate these extra file when saving jpegs in CS5.

Do you think using Save for Web and Devices is my best shot to ultimately clean up  the monitor display and get my slideshows running continuously?

thanks for you patience...

Mark

Mark I have no idea of what is showing your slide show on you Samsung Monitor.  Is its a Monitor or TV.   If it is firmware in the monitor for displaying slide shows I have no information about monitor feature that the firmware provides most likely configuration display slide and movie.   I do not know what form what image format and codecs are supported.   I was just trying to make sure all you copied to the Flash Drive are Image Files,  Sidecar files are not images files.   To get you slide show running continuously you need to read the manual to see how to do that.  If you can not figures it our using whatever UI you are now using.
