Question

Import Keyboard Shortcuts from another Photoshop (CC 2019) for mac

Hi,

I was searching for this topic and post it here because I couldn't find it on internet and figured it out myself.

Paste the file in this map.

For Mac: Applications/ Adobe Photoshop cc 2019/ Locales/en_GB/Support Files/Shortcuts/Mac

If Photoshop was still open, restart Photoshop.

Cheers,

Hi, just an update, I think the file path for keyboard shortcuts is now different (2025). The folder from OP's post still exists but won't let you import anymore. The new file path (mac) is:

/Users/[USER NAME]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/[PHOTOSHOP VERSION]/Presets/Keyboard Shortcuts

The rest of the tutorial remains the same - you paste the .kys file into this folder and restart photoshop, then select the new set by navigating to:

Edit > Keybard shortcuts

Hi, for completenes, the Windows path is : Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop [version]\Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings

For the full list of preferences, presets and their function, see this help document (Scroll down for windows) : https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/preference-file-names-locations-photoshop.html

Not sure why, but this didn't work for me. So what I did instead is I went to the Shortcuts panel in PS on my laptop (where my shortcuts are how I want them), and I clicked the "Save all changes to the current shorcuts" button:

Which then had me save the .kys file somewhere. I transferred that file to my iMac, and then I opened the file in Photoshop, which then allowed me to overwrite the keyboard shortcuts (and it will prompt you asking if you want to save the current set of shortcuts before you overwrite).

Again, not sure why the method given my the OP didn't work for me - but this other solution did so I hope it's helpful for someone else too!
