Photoshop CS6 - Camera Raw Files for Nikon D5

I have a downloaded version of PS as mentioned above. It says it's up to date, but I'm unable to open raw files from the Nikon d5.

Do I need to to have CC in oder to do so, or is another option available to me that I don't know of?

System I'm working on: OS X El Capitan - Version 10.11.6 - 4gHz i7

Thanks for your time and help!

Besides having photoshop cc, you could use the free adobe dng converter to convert the nefs to dng copies which should then open in photoshop cs6.

The Nikon D5 requires at least the camera raw 9.5 plugin and cs6 can only use up to 9.1.1

Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh : Adobe DNG Converter 9.7

    Thanks for your help @R_Kelly!

I'm a wedding photographer so I would rather not do that for every job since there are thousands of images.

Is there by chance another way around it?

    You have a few options:

    1. Use the Nikon software to open the NEFs, save to TIFF and edit the TIFFs in CS6, or
    2. Join the Adobe Cloud, get CC Photography Plan and open the NEFs in Photoshop CC, or
    3. Use the DNG converter every time then open the DNGs in CS6, or
    4. Buy Lightroom 6, update to 6.7 and open the Raw NEFs in Lightroom 6.7, roundtripping to Photoshop as required.

You've got the hardware and operating system required for CC.

For the most optimal workflow, a Cloud membership would be preferable @ $10/month for the Photography Plan or $120 for 12 months.
