Photoshop Freezing [Brush Tool]

I recently made a change to my preferences as my brush tool was lagging. I changed the performance settings for the brush to Basic rather than Advanced, but now whenever I draw or do pretty much anything, my Photoshop stops working completely. It isn't marked as "Not Responding", but I can't click any buttons or do anything. I can't even exit out.

I stand corrected! Turns out my graphics processor was disabled. I enabled it and stuff freezes whenever I do anything.

Are you getting lag problems anywhere else? What is your system hardware?

?reset preferences

?unplug and replug your usb drawing device

?use a wired mouse (this solved my lag problems)

?update your graphics card driver

?try turning off Smoothing

Re-installing Photoshop but downgrading to CC 9.0 seemed to work. Thanks though!
