Spacebar - hand tool PS CS6

I seem to be having a little problem with the hand tool - spacebar shortcut. In the older versions of Photoshop, once I let go of the spacebar the picture/screen would stop moving instantly. However in PS CS6, once I let go of the spacebar most of the time the picture/screen will still move, floatingly, slowing down to a slow stop. It's a bit annoying since it's almost like my workspace is trying to run away from me. Is there any way to fix this? Make this behave the same way it did back in the older version of Ps?

Thank you in advance, to whomever answers my question

Hi AishaPachia,

As Sim has mentioned, this is a newer feature, but it can be turned off in Photoshop's Preferences > Tools > (uncheck) Enable Flick Panning.

Let us know if you still have trouble.

Pete

Hi,

I believe Photoshop CS6 was the first versions to have a glide feature, that is what I think might be happening.

This happens when you click whilst moving your mouse/graphics pen in any direction for more than a second or so.

I hope that helps!

I don't know exactly if that is the thing. You see, back in the day (gosh I sound old hahaha) whenever I stopped using the hand tool to drag the picture, it would stop instantaneously. But in PS CS6 most of the time it glides to a stop which infuriates me. :/ I want it to stop just as it did in the older versions. Do I have to go back to the older version or is there any way to change it?
