is there something like auto mask on photoshop.

hey im looking a way i can use the brush so i wont ruin my picture. im trying to use the brush over a certian area so that spot can pop.

You can add a layer on top of your image layers and add the changes  you want to make to your document's composite on that layer.  Nothing will be changed in your actual image.    For example add and empty layer on top and use the spot healing  brush on that layer sampling that layer and below.

target the top layer and use shortcut Shift+Alt+Crt+N or menu Layer>New (Shortcut Shift+ Ctrt+N) or click one the new layer icon in the bottom of the layers palette

Since you're unsure how to add layers, I have a feeling my explanation might be hard for you. You can duplicate the layer you want to adjust, so you don't damage the original layer. Turn off the visibility of the original layer. Then use the background eraser to erase the areas you want to correct. This will act like the auto mask tool in ACR. When you're done, ctrl/cmd click on that layer's thumbnail to create a selection. You can then use that selection for adjustment layers or whatever to adjust your original layer. You can delete the layer that you erased on.
