Question

Ability to see lots of tab at once?

I usually need to work with a large number of PDFs, typically 5-10.

Under Acrobat DC Pro Mac's default behavior, a normal sized Acrobat window will only allow about 4 tabs to be displayed at once.  This is not very useful, the option to scroll through the tabs does not help, and I am wondering if there is a way to make the window show more tabs at the same time without stretching it to cover a larger screen area?

Hi Morganw,

Apologies for the trouble caused, as you are experiencing issues with opening multiple tabs on mac, we tried to reproduce the issue on our end and we were easily able to open 10 documents with different tabs under one window.

For a better understanding of the issue we need some more information:

  • Are you running the latest version of Adobe Acrobat DC, to check go to help>About Acrobat Pro DC.
  • Could you please share the screenshot of your mac screen when you try to open more tabs. To know more about how to send the private message, please refer to How Do I Send Private Message

alternatively, you may try resetting the preferences:

Go to Adobe Acrobat DC>Preferences>General>select open documents as new tabs in the same window (requires relaunch).

Let us know if that makes any difference to you.

Regards,

Amal

There is no problem actually opening 10 documents in one window, the issue is that because of the way the tabs display, only a few will be visible at once and I have to use the scroll arrows (< >) to see all their names, or else expand the window wider to an unhelpful degree.  This is troublesome when I need to quickly move back and forth between them at random.  I was hoping there was some way to shrink them or display the tabs in multiple rows so I can see all the tabs at once.
