Accessibility tools not working after update

I recently updated my Acrobat to version 2025.001.20577 and my MacOS to Sequoia 15.6, and since then I've had issues when trying to check accessibility of docs in Acrobat.

First I noticed that when I go into the accessibility tools and click on Reading Order, the button turns blue like it is selected, but no options window opens and nothing appears on the doc to show reading order or text levels. The rest of the buttons in accessibility tools seem to work fine.

Then I realised my ability to see the tags was completely gone - the panel to see them is nowhere to be found.

I've been searching to find a solution and can't find anything about anyone having the same issue. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and restarting my Mac to no avail. I also have 3 work collegues on the same plan who have run the same updates as me and aren't having this issue.

Hi efficient_focus9421,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.

Please check if it happens with particular files or all files. Then, try repairing the installation. In Acrobat, go to Menu > Help > Repair Installation.

You may also try reinstalling the application once, using the following steps:
-Remove the application and run the cleaner tool (https://adobe.ly/479y6uv).
-Reboot the machine
-Install Adobe Acrobat from the following page: https://adobe.ly/3IV6Q9i.

If the issue still occurs, please share a screen recording of the issue happening on your end. Also, please share the current Acrobat and OS version on the machine.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Reading Order tool doesn't display overlay or dialog despite being activated.

Tags panel is completely missing from the UI.             ForemostPayOnline com

Other accessibility tools work fine (like Full Check, Autotag Document, etc.).

Reinstalling Acrobat and rebooting macOS Sequoia 15.6 doesn’t help.

@jo_13579 It's also puzzling that your colleagues with the same updates aren't experiencing the same problems. This suggests the issue is likely specific to your MAC's configuration. Since reinstalling Acrobat and restarting your Mac haven't worked, a possible solution is to reset Acrobat's preferences, which can often resolve corrupted settings.

I had a weird issue wth my 'Preferences' when I had my battery replaced by Apple Genius, and even the Genius said to delete the items in the Preferences. I had my doubts, so I made a copy on my desktop, just in case. 17 gigs to be honest. Deleted all the items in the Preferences, and restarted my Mac. Because I restarted, it created new Preferences... Guess what, my Preferences is only 384KB! Library - Preferences

If by chance that still doesn't work, double-check the 'View' menu in Acrobat to ensure the Tags panel isn't simply hidden by going to View > Show/Hide > Navigation Panes > Tag. From there, select Show/Hide, then Navigation Panes, and finally, ensure that Tags is checked. If it is unchecked, clicking on it should make the Tags panel reappear. This simple check often resolves issues where panels seem to have disappeared after an update, as they may have been accidentally toggled off.

Thanks for the response, I gave this a go and it didn't work sadly.
