Accessible fillable table

New Here ,
Jul 28, 2022 Jul 28, 2022

Hi

I'm  trying to create a table that has form fields in it. When I try to tag it, using the reading order panel nothing happens ( a tag is not made for the form field with in the table row). Is this even possible to do or do I have to use an authoring tool such as word to get the tags to appear? If this has been solved already please refer me to the thread.

Thanks in advanced,

Angela

Hi,

It is difficult to answer without seeing the file. Can you list the steps you took so far?

The automatic recognition to add field in a table is quite good, I always need to add some fields, remove some.

Can you share more details of what you want to achieve at the end? maybe a screenshot

Hi,

Sure no problem. I created the table in word first. I added the apporitate tags, h1, h2, etc. I also used the built in table feature in word. I exported the document as a pdf. The tags so far exported fine. In adobe I used prepare form to add edit fields to the table rows. The problem I ran into was trying to add the forms fields as tags so screen reader users can read the fields. When I open up the reading order panel to try and add the fillable fields in the table to a tag in a table row nothing happens. I think there is an easier way to do this but I'm out of ideas.ChoresChecklist.PNGChoresChecklist2.PNG
