Hello folks,
I really need your help. First, for years I have used PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
I purchased a full licensed Acrobat 11 Pro.
I can not longer install (see info below) without getting an Error Code 1402.
I have searched everywhere for a fix and tried many ways to no avail, including wiping all instances of
Acrobat 11 from the registry, and no install.
Today, I was sent to Adobe which had an article on how to "fix" the 1402 problem.
Go to Registry / HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.pdf . Right click, go to permissions, make sure the listings were correct and permissions were correct. Finally, check "Replace all child object permission............................................., click apply for every entry. Finally, Adobe said to minimize regedit, and try to install again. Didn't work. The said if the error returned, and Error Code 1402 "showed" a different class or had a different number, then repeat. I did this twice and came back with same number. Please help me get back up and running.
Tom
PS - I even bought a newe version, "TRIAL". Made sure all Acrobat was installed. Installed the new Trial Version, same 1402 Code.
INFO:
This program has worked flawlessly for years. I have used it on "this pc" which is business and is Windows 10 Home. For the past 5 years, again flawlessly.
I had the largest pc crash that I have ever had back in Feb. Whatever happened, it also wiped out by two backups. I took the PC to my local iXrepair Shop, which is reputable. Quote: "we have never seen a crash like this that wiped out so many items, including Acrobat Pro.
After two weeks, and since the PC would boot up with about two items on desktop.
They elected to reinstall Windows 10.
I was able to put all my programs back on the PC and all seems about 90% ok, with only a few burps now and then.
I use Acrobat Pro daily on this computer for my calendar, medication lists, dr. appts., etc. I really need your help.
