Acrobat 2020 Sign-In Loop

Installed Acrobat Pro 2020 on two new computers using two newly purchased licenses/serial numbers.  After opening the program, I am prompted to use a QR code or URL to log in.  Logging in using either method appears to be successful, but I after I open Acrobat,  I am presented with the QR code/link screen again.

Any tips on how to get past this sign-in loop?

Hi @kevin_2357,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with activating Acrobat.

It would be interesting to understand, where from you downloaded the installer. Was it from the link you received from Adobe with the serial number?

What I'd suggest here would be to register the product here: https://adobe.ly/3ZTc8Iy and then download the installer from your profile.

Once done, it should install, and you might not be prompted for any URL login or QR scan. It might ask you to log in using the Adobe ID you registered the product with, but that should mostly be it.

Hope this helps.

This process worked.  It looks like I had an old installer.

Thanks!

Hi @birgit_2183,

Sorry for the trouble.

You might want to try the steps mentioned here: Activation limit reached or Sign-in failed error

Also, you might want to log in to https://account.adobe.com/security/ -> scroll down to the active sessions-> remove any devices that you see, and then try again.

Hope this helps.

@birgit_2183 Some steps to try on the machines.

Removing license-related files that could get corrupted and cause issues: Issue deleting licensing-related information.

A few folders that might need permissions: User prompted to sign in repeatedly | 2018 and earlier versions

Hi @birgit_2183,

Just chiming in to see if you are still experiencing the issue.

If yes, would you mind trying out the steps mentioned here:

Go to Start Menu-> Registry Editor-> Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\2020\Activation

DWORD: IsAcroLicCEFDisabled

Value: 0

If this doesn't work, please help us with gathering logs from your system.

procmon logs: https://adobe.ly/4hPhDi5;

Fiddler logs: Capture Adobe Campaign SOAP traffic with Fiddler and share them via document cloud as described here https://adobe.ly/4i7zKAf for more investigation.
