cs5.5 includes acrobat.

you just need your cs5.5 serial number and installation files.

Ah... maybe, or maybe not

I bought CS5 Master Collection and it came with 2 serial numbers... 1 for everything EXCEPT Acrobat Pro 9 and one that was only for Acrobat Pro 9

when starting the cs 5.5 installation select acrobat, if that's all you want to install, and see what serial number you're prompted for.

then you have 3 ways to recover a serial number you cant recall.

for adobe to find your account: you would need to recall the adobe id used to purchase from or register with adobe from years ago.

I'm pretty sure Acrobat 8 & 9 are End of Life now.  Even if you had the serial number and original installers, I think that ship has sailed.  For security reasons, you need a modern Acrobat version.

Hope that helps.

Not sure why the ship has sailed, Nancy.

CS5.5 can still be activated. Same should apply to Acrobat Pro 9.

AFAIK, Acrobat 8 & 9 cannot be activated anymore for security reasons.

CS5.5 is separate.

Yes, not sure on that myself. I cannot find anything from Adobe confirming which versions of Acrobat can no longer be activated.

We all know CS(1) to CS4 can no longer be activated but what about Acrobat which was always bundled separately with its own serial number?

Since CS5.5 can still be activated, why not Acrobat 9 which was bundled with it?

cs 4 and acrobat 9 were released about the same time.

cs5.5 should have included acrobat x

Yes, looks like

  • Acrobat 9 came with CS4
  • Acrobat 9.3 came with CS5
  • Acrobat X came with CS5.5

Since CS5 can still be activated, it would seem that the same should apply to Acrobat 9.3.

I suspect @Nancy OShea is right and Acrobat 8 & 9 can no longer be activated. However, I cannot find anything from Adobe confirming that.
