Acrobat crashing on startup / opening files

This started happening to me yesterday 8/13/23, where Acrobat would crash after opening a PDF. Before the crash, I can scroll around the PDF, but can't do anything else in Acrobat as it isn't enough time. I notice a new, blank, white window will open for a second or two before the crash.

The only thing I can think of is it's trying to bring up the login or pass a token or something along those lines. When I went to see Acrobat within the Creative Cloud app, I noticed that I was logged out of the Creative Cloud app. So I logged back in and still had the crashing with Acrobat. I then uninstalled Acrobat and reinstalled it. Still, the crashing.

I've spent the last day trying to find a solution and so far nothing.

Acrobat Version 23.0

Win10.

Hi @ipushpixels

Sorry to hear about the trouble caused.

If you get the time to navigate through Acrobat, then go to Menu>disable New Acrobat. Now observe its behavior, whether its crashes or not.

If Acrobat crashes immediately after launch and doesn't give the time to click anywhere. Then,

  • First, close the CC desktop app,
  • Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s file traces:

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

Download the Acrobat installer from here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

The latest patch is now live, 23.003.20269

Install and update it from here: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Thanks,

Akanchha
