Acrobat DC Constantly Crashes

I installed Acrobat DC without any issues through Creative Cloud on my Mac with OS X Yosemite 10.10.3.

However, when I open it, it will crash after about 10 seconds regardless if a file is open or not.

Are there any suggestions on how to fix this?

I have the same OS and version of Acrobat DC and also experience constant crashes. Acrobat DC is pretty much unusable and most days brings my workflow to a complete halt, until I am lucky enough to get it to stay open for more than a minute. It is without a doubt the most appalling piece of software I have used in a 20 year career in the creative industry.

This is completely unrelated to the aesthetic choices made in the redesign of the app (which I am just about used to now) and 100% about getting a stable and useable PDF workflow again. Acrobat DC should not have been released as it is clearly full of bugs and needs to be fixed as soon as possible. I am more than happy to send crash reports (of which there will be many) if it helps to repair the many flaws in this software.

Thanks

Graeme

@Chette62: Can you try deleting your /private/tmp/boost_interprocess folder (after closing Acrobat) and see if the problem goes away.

You can use Cmd-Shift-G and type /private/tmp to navigate to the folder containing "boost_interprocess".

Is this a procedure for the Mac or for a PC?

Hi Chette62,

Since when are you facing this error?

Do you get any error message when Acrobat crashes?

Regards,
Rahul

‌It started when I updated from the previous version of Acrobat Pro to Acrobat DC.  I did not have any issues with Acrobat Pro.

I do not get an Acrobat error message. I get an OS X error report that says Acrobat quit unexpectedly.

Hi Chette62,

Please check out this document: CC applications close immediately after launch. Let us know if that does the trick!

Best,

Sara
