Acrobat DC (Creative Cloud) loses preferences after every software update

Our Technical Publications group create PDF documents with Acrobat DC app in Creative Cloud. After every program update through the Cloud, Acrobat PDF is no longer the default printer and  all our preferences are reset to default: joboptions, paper size, etc. These have to be manually re-selected not only for Acrobat but also for Distiller. With automatic updates we are not warned this has happened causing potential errors in PDF files with different settings and lost time resetting our preferences. Is there a way to keep our preferences after program updates?

Thanks.

Hi MeenakshiNegi,

I wasn't able to remove Acrobat from the Creative Cloud desktop using the cleaner tool because Acrobat DC doesn't show up as one of the installed apps in the cleaner.

Hey Eric!

Could you please confirm how it was installed on the machine?

Share the Acrobat and Creative Cloud desktop application versions. Also, share the OS version on the machine.

As you are using the windows machine, try once to manually uninstalling the application.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Erics!

Thank you for reaching out and sorry for the delay in response.

As the Acrobat preferences reset after each update, that should not happen. Please try removing the Acrobat installed from the Creative Cloud desktop application using the cleaner tool(https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html).

Then reboot the machine and re-install the application directly from this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/download-install-acrobat-subscription.html and check if the issue still occurs on updating the application.

Let us know if the issue still occurs.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
