Acrobat DC is removing a signature from a signed pdf

Dear all,

I have signed a PDF by using the Digital Signature field and my digital signature, and sent it to be signed by another person. Upon getting it back by email, I can see in the Outlook attachment preview or if I save it and open it by using Acrobat Reader Touch, that both of the signatures are there.

However, if I open the saved document with Acrobat DC, my digital signature is not there, and there is an empty signature field instead. If I try closing the document, it asks me if I would like to save the changed document despite teh fact that I made no changes.

Clearly, for some reason DC removes my digital signature.

Is this a known bug that will be fixed soon?

Thanks,

GT

I think what has happened is that the OTHER user has partly removed the signature. Because it is no longer valid, Acrobat has finished the job. Also, the file was left broken (hence the surprising prompt to save)? Did you instruct the other person to use only Acrobat Reader or Acrobat Pro to sign the file? Some people may sign in a browser, email or other app because that's where they open PDFs.

I think the issue is more likely with how the other person edited the file. My guess is they used a non-compliant PDF viewer, like Apple Preview or a browser plugin, which corrupts the signature field, and the file.

Ask them to re-do it, using only Adobe Acrobat or Reader, and it should work fine.
