Is there a limit to the number of items that can be stuffed into an Acrobat drop down box? I realize there are usability questions, but aside from that?

"We know we'll have to find a polite way to tell them that such a dropdown will be unusable."

Unless the user can guess that the first letter of the item sought must be entered on the keyboard. 😉

"There are hierarchical popup menus."

I think there is nothing better in this case:

There are practical limits such as visibility, usability, and memory, but nothing in Acrobat will stop you from adding enough entries to crash Acrobat.

Thanks for your quick reply. And it's worse than I let on. Our client is talking about a list of more than 1,500 items. We know we'll have to find a polite way to tell them that such a dropdown will be unusable. Whether or not it was even possible was our starting point. I read that multi-level dropdowns are possible, though it sounded like it requires some scripting. I'd still probably need about a dozen of those. Oh, man. Any suggestions come to mind?
