Acrobat freezes when combining Tiff files

Community Beginner ,

Version 23.006.20320 freezes everytime I try to combine Tiff files. Freezes at Checking for Security Settings. Worked perfectly back in June with Version 23.1. Seems a recent update has added a bug. Anyony know how to fix this?

To add to this. I loaded files and as usual Acrobat froze at the Checking for Security Settings. I left the computer while I went to lunch. Came back about an hour and a half later and Combine Files had processed. So maybe it works but only if you can wait a long time. I still think it's a bug that needs fixing.

Hi @DH-art

I'm really sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue. I understand how frustrating technical problems can be. Let's work together to find a solution.

First, could you let me know if this issue is specific to certain PDF files or if it occurs with all PDFs? Trying a different set of files might give us some valuable information.

Additionally, could you please provide me with the version of the OS you are using?

If you're on a Windows system, you might want to attempt a repair installation from the help menu. This has helped in similar cases before.

Another step to try is resetting Acrobat preferences. You can follow the steps outlined in this guide: Reset Acrobat Preference Settings.

If the issue persists, creating a new test user profile with full admin rights (for Windows) or enabling the root account (for macOS) might offer some insight.

If none of these steps resolve the freezing issue, could you please collect the crash/freeze logs as described here? You can upload the log file to any cloud storage platform, create the link and share that link with us for further investigation.

Thank you for your cooperation.

~Amal
