I have acrobat Pro 2020.005 for MacOS. . Acrobat says to allow background updates, but there is no Acrobat Updater in the system settings (Login Items and extensions). It may have been munged when I got a new Mac or in one of the System updates. Suggestions? Can I manually download the updater somewhere?

Hello!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

If you're using Acrobat Pro 2020 on macOS and don't see the Acrobat Updater in System Settings (Login Items or Extensions), here are a few steps you can take to manually manage and restore update functionality:

You can manually download the latest updates for Acrobat 2020 from Adobe’s official site: https://adobe.ly/3RjmR9Y

Enable Background Updates from within Acrobat: Even if the updater isn’t showing in macOS settings, Acrobat can still manage updates internally: Open Acrobat Pro 2020, go to Acrobat > Preferences > Updater, and make sure “Automatically install updates” is selected.

You may also try the suggestions from this article: Troubleshoot issues with updating Acrobat or Reader on Mac OS

If the issue persists, please ensure you have all the operating system's mandatory and optional updates installed, then restart the machine. Use the Acrobat Cleaner tool to remove Acrobat 2020, restart the machine, and install Acrobat 2020.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.
