Question

Acrobat not opening because of incompatibility with a protection configuration

Why is my Acrobat suddenly not opening?

After n number of failed attempts, I tried to Run as Administrator and was informed of an incompatibility on the part of Acrobat with a protection configuration in my system. I had to disable this protection configuration (whatever it is) to work against yet another tight deadline.

I never had such a problem until today. My Acrobat (64-bit version) is up to date

I need to know why this issue has cropped up and how to deal with it, without using too much time.

My OS: Windows 10 Pro Version: 22H2 Build: 19045.2364

Thank you

Paul

Hi @Paul Gauci

Hope you are doing well, and sorry to hear that.

What happens when you try to open Adobe Acrobat? Do you get any error messages? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for a better understanding.

Also, try to turn off the protected mode for testing (Win Only). Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable protected mode at start up' Turn off the Protected mode and uncheck 'Enhanced Security' > Click OK and reboot the computer once.

Note: Please turn on the security after testing.

Also, please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/protected-mode-troubleshooting-reader.html and see if that works.

Regards

Amal
