Acrobat patch and ftp.adobe.com ?

Dear community forum ,

I am a long time user of ftp.adobe.com in order to download patches  for Adobe product familly .

Does someone knows if ftp.adobe.com is still in use . It seems it has not been up to date .  If this is the case a message from Adobe would have been nice to notify about any service status change .

Thank you

Guillaume.

I think Adobe expect everyone to have migrated to using a SCUP catalog long ago. The problem with notifying a change of use of the FTP server - how would they have reached anyone?

Put an update on the main page, and/or a text file in the FTP folders themselves?

I guess they might eventually be discovered, that could work. But I suspect it would never occur to Adobe - this has probably been automatically updated by a process they all considered obsolete, which finally broke...

It is still working, but they stopped uploading the latest updates to it (at least for Reader), for reasons unknown.

The closest notification we got was a post on these forums by an Adobe Employee some time ago.

It is very unfortunate, as the FTP storage of older installers is a very useful tool for many people... I guess they prefer you pass through their web-site for that.

Thank you for the info  . It is quite sad . FTP was very convenient for such purpose .
