Hello,
As part of my association I bought Acrobat XI Pro Mac ESD (French).

With the switch to MAC OS CATALINA, the software stops working. I can not even reinstall it because this bug at the time of installation. How can I do ?

The real issue is that MacOS 10.15 requires that both the application program and all associated components including the installer be 64-bit versions. Acrobat 11, its installer, and all plug-ins designed for Acrobat 11 are in fact 32-bit and even forgetting about the fact that Adobe no longer supports this very old version, there is no way to somehow simply update it to be 64-bit. Acrobat DC / Acrobat 2015 was the first version to be 64-bit on MacOS and the most recent updates provided 64-bit installers and underlying infrastructure changes necessary for MacOS 10.15.

I know this is months later, but I just found your post. I have been running Acobat Pro X on Mojave for months with no issues. I occasionally get a message telling me that this version will no longer be supported in the future. Adobe's sage advise seems to ignore the fact that we paid $500 for a lifetime license and don't want to switch over to their price gouging subscription model.

To be very clear, you bought a “perpetual license” (the word “lifetime” certainly does not appear in the End User License Agreement) which provided for software that would run in the computing environment available at the time the software was Adobe's current software release and with support for a limited period of time. Adobe never guaranteed that all old versions of software designed for systems runnng 32-bit software and particular hardware configurations would run on newer systems with incompatible hardware and operating systems (the operating system no longer supports 32-bit software). The reason why you are getting warning messages is that Adobe does want you to know that if you do upgrade to the latest version of MacOS or you buy a new computer that only runs with the latest version of MacOS, you will need to upgrade your software, plain and simple. I we didn't provide such warnings, there would be customers who would complain that we didn't warn them!

By the way, if you buy four laser printer toner cartridges and a month later, you need to replace the printer that uses those cartridges with a new printer that uses different toner cartridges, would you expect the supplier of those four toner cartridges to give you a “free upgrade” because those those cartridges don't fit your new printer?

I have Acrobat Pro X, not 11. My question is, if I upgrade to Catalina, will it work? Thanks

    Hi Makeup-Pro

No. Acrobat X will not work on Catalina.

    https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/system-requirements.html

"Pre-August 2019 versions of Acrobat DC, Acrobat 2017, and Acrobat 2015 applications cannot be licensed on macOS 10.15 Catalina. Adobe recommends customers updating their Acrobat DC, Acrobat 2017, or Acrobat 2015 to the latest release. To update from within the application, on the Help menu, choose Check for updates and follow onscreen instructions to complete the update process."

Acrobat corresponding to macOS 10.15 is DC continious / DC (2015) / 2017 after the version updated on October 15th.

Acrobat XI is no longer compatible with macOS 10.15 because support has ended in October 2017.

Your software was obsolete 4 years ago. It will never run in Catalina. Didn’t you get get a warning when upgrading?  You need to get the current version of Acrobat. Then wait... it is too early for going to Catalina.
