Acrobat Pro 2017 won't open documents

Adobe Acrobat pro 2017 for mac.

Architecture: x86_64

Build: 17.11.30096.290042

AGM: 4.30.78

CoolType: 5.14.5

JP2K: 1.2.2.41223

The program opens and runs but:

will not open documents

Will not create documents.

The same documents are readable perfectly by several other PDF readers.

I have re-started the mac and I have completely uninstalled and re-installed the software but the same problem happens.

Adobe support page doesn't even include this product, and of course their telephone support is non-existant so I'm hoping someone else has had this problem and found a fix.

As per the issue description mentioned above, you are unable to open documents using Acrobat, is that correct?
