Acrobat Pro Crashes When Attempting to Change Font

Hello,

I'm experiencing a significant issue with Adobe Acrobat Pro (version 20.005.30574) on Mac OS Sonoma Version 14.3.1. Whenever I try to change the font from Helvetica to another font in any document, Acrobat Pro immediately crashes. This started occurring after the latest software update. My attempts to resolve this—cleaning, deleting, and reinstalling Acrobat Pro, and ensuring I'm on the latest version—haven't fixed the problem.

OS:Mac OS Sonoma Version 14.3.1

Adobe Version:20.005.30574

Actions Taken:Reinstalling Acrobat Pro, checking for updates.

Does anyone have any insights or solutions to this issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Using similar version of Acrobat Pro (v2020.005.30748) I have not been able to edit two important documents under Sequoia (v15.3.1) having the same problems of being locked into Helvetica and not able to adjust font size more than once before crash. I have been following this, as has my help via MK Premium, and am still awaiting a fix. Since no info offered by Adobe (I couldn't continue my professional services by behaving in such a non communicative way!)  I have to presume that they are no nearer than they were three or four months ago.

There seems little point extending support for 2020 Pro and not actually offering any support! Do I have to go with another pdf  supplier as some already have, or does anyone have any clue as to time line on a fix.

Where else can I find .pdf editing software? Any recommendations?

Thanks for sharing what you learned. I just updated to Mac OS Sonoma 14.5 and am having the identical problem. Reinstalling and checking for updates does not work. Does anyone know if there has been a solution identified yet?

Try to revert to the Classic UI: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-2023-how-to-revert-to-classic-gui-user-interface/td-p/14052807
Consider the "new Acrobat" as a beta version, many features are still missing or half-implemented.

I've been in touch with Adobe's support about a bug in Acrobat Pro version 20.005.30574, identified as ADC-4437420. The team is aware and actively working on a fix, though no ETA for the next patch update is provided yet.

I am having the same issue on Mac OS Sonoma Version 14.3.1. It's been interfering with my work big time. I haven't found a solution and no troubleshooting has helped.

Hi there

Please collect and share the crash logs  https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-logs-crash-freeze.html and share them via any cloud storage. Just upload the log file to the cloud and generate the link and share that link with us for further investigation.

Regards

Hi @safranbiz

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

As you have already tried most of the troubleshooting steps with no luck, Would you mind collecting the Procmon logs (Win Only) https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/acromonitor.html  and Crash/freeze logs https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-logs-crash-freeze.html and share them via any cloud storage.

Just upload the log file to the cloud and generate the link and share that link with us for further investigation.

Regards
Amal

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
