Acrobat Pro DC Closes on its Own

I am running Windows 10 software.  My Acrobat Pro DC constantly closes on its own when I am using it.  Sometimes it closes within seconds after opening it.  Sometimes it stays open for several minutes before it closes.  And on occassion it has stayed open for several days which has led me to believe that maybe the problem no longer exists, but if I have to restart my computer either because of an upgrade or because of a power outage, then the problem starts again.  I just called Adobe Support, and the rep said he fixed the problem.  I believe he simply reinstalled the software.  Within one minute after getting off of the phone with the Adobe rep Acrobat closed on its own.  Does anyone know a fix for this?  Thank you, and stay safe and healthy in this difficule time.

Hi there

A new update for Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC is now available v20.009.20063. Please update the application to the new version. Go to Help > Check for Updates. You may also download the patch manually from the link (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html)and see if that helps.

Also, if you are using the dual monitor setup, please refer to the steps provided in the help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/dual-monitor-crash-windows.html)

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal

Hi Johnny

We are sorry for the trouble. As described the application closes on its own randomly.

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC installed on your computer?  To check the version of the application please use the link (https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html)  and make sure you have the latest version 20.006.20042 installed.  Go to Help > Check for Updates. You may also download the patch manually using the link (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html)

For testing purposes, please try to turn off the protected mode. Go to Edit > Preferences >  Enhanced Security > Turn Off the Protected Mode and Uncheck the Enhanced Security > Click OK and reboot the application and check.
Note: Please turn on the security after testing

if it still doesn't work, please try the following steps:

If it still doesn't work, please create a new test user profile with full admin rights and try using the application there and check.

Let us know how it goes
