Acrobat Pro DC crashes: "An error has been detected..."

Installed the most recent version of Acrobat Pro DC (2015) from Adobe's website, and every time I try to open it I get the error message "An error has been detected with a required application library or file and the product cannot continue. Please reinstall the application." When I close out of the error window, Acrobat crashes, and I get another box that says "Quitting" at the top of the window, containing the message "Raise without Handler!" Neither reinstalling nor repairing Acrobat has any effect. I've used the Acrobat Cleaner tool to wipe out any old files from the Acrobat Reader DC I used to use, then installed Acrobat Pro DC, but hasn't helped. I can't find anything useful online regarding this first error message; all the forums complaining about it are in regards to Acrobat 7 or Adobe CS2. The forums regarding "Raise without Handler!" are equally outdated, and imply that this message only shows up on Mac systems. However, I am running Windows 10. Can anyone help?

Here's my solution....

Check your anti-virus program (SEP, McAffee, AVG, Microsoft) has not deleted or quarantined AMTLIB.DLL

It's an essential component of Acrobat and Adobe products, and I discovered that it had been deleted

I turned off my AV, reinstalled/repaired the Acrobat installation, and added an exception to my AV to ignore the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\amtlib.dll

Guess what, it worked.

For anyone still experiencing this I solved it by uninstalling McAfee and Repairing Acrobat in control panel. Repairing it alone for me didn't work. Had to uninstall McAfeee first.

Resetting Preferences using the above method had no effect. So far the only way to avoid the error message is to "Repair" Acrobat via the control panel, but then Acrobat only runs without issue one time. The second time that it's run, the error message pops up again.

look for something on your computer (av, cleaner etc) that's regularly corrupting your acrobat.
