What is the type of line Acrobat Pro attempts to interpret as text field? This does not work:

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

Would you mind sharing more details about the issue you are experiencing?

  • What is the workflow/steps you are doing to prepare PDF form? A small video recording of the same would be very helpful.
  • What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC  and the OS you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 21.11.20039 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer.

Also please go through the help pages listed below and see if that helps:

Hi there

Please try to add the the text fields manually in the resultanat PDF file where the fields are missing as described here https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/pdf-form-field-basics.html  and see if that works for you.

Regards

Amal

I believe the intent is for Acrobat to automatically detect and create form fields from a Word document that already contains text forms (and other form elements). However, Acrobat seems to overlook these elements, only converting table cells into forms. This necessitates redoing the entire form creation process manually in Acrobat, which feels quite redundant and inefficient.

Hi there

Is this an issue with a particular Word file or with all the files? Please try with a different Word file and check.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.06.20380 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...

If you want to learn how to design "Acrobat friendly" forms, check out episodes 52 and 53 of this podcast. They focus on InDesign, but the design guidelines are the same:
