I frequently get freezing and not responding. 1/2 the time if I let it sit for a few minutes I cant even close it without going to Task manager. I often just open a large file (157MB) and just leave it for 10 minutes for it to do its processing. When I come back it just hanges. Here are the System Parameters:

It is up to date. I cant imagine I need to reinstall after 2 months. If I do, could I please be given the version that can go a little longer then a month or 2? As it stands now, this is an unusable option for pdf viewing/editing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
Hi Joel
we are sorry to hear that.
Please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/message-content-preparation-progress-opening.html and see if that works for you.
You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows and try uisng the application there and check.

I had the same issue on a fresh install (and updated) Windows 10 Pro on Dec 24, 2021.
Acrobat DC Pro was becoming 'unresponsive' every time I clicked anything (buttons, menus, etc)
I found the solution in another thread from 2018.
My default account is the built-in Administrator account.
Please note, Windows couldn't fix the compatibility issue on the firt try, I had to click 'next' and let it try another fix (Compatibility Mode: Windows Vista (Service Pack 2); User Account Control: Run as administrator)
Pic of fix:
Here's a link to the original post, and the solution was about halfway down the first page:

>>Press Ctrl alt del while adobe acrobat reader dc is running (this opens the task manager)
Just one minor correction: Cntl-Shift-Esc opens the Task Manager.

Unfortunately, this didnt work. previously the issue was just adobe acrobat pro dc not responding, now it cause the entire computer to freeze, mouse is intermittentaly unresponsive and other windows dont display properly. I ended up undoing any changes the troubleshooter changed.
It seems to be trying to read or prepare the files I am opening, maybe in the background. Sometimes I notice a box that says "Please wait while the document is being prepared for" theres only 13 pages and it takes more than 9 minutes before completing.
