Hi Acrobat pro DC is very slow to load a PDF then when I try editing or closing or saving it sas that the program is not responding and takes ages to to respond if at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Pro DC a couple of times but this has not solved the problem, is any one else having this problem and if so have you managed to fix this and how?

See if this could be related to your issue:

And here's the release notes to compare:

It may be possible to work around this issue using the Adobe Acrobat Cleanup and Repair Tool, which you can get from here: https://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

  • Another suggestion that I can think of, if the problem continues after following the steps above, right-click on the Windows logo in the left corner of the task-bar, select "run".  In the pop up dialogue box type in "resmon" (without the quotes) to open up the resource manager to spot any misbehavior in the application's performance. See slide below:

  • NOTE: To gather more valuable information click on the "CPU" tab and you may be able to spot significant details. Leave this reporting tool open when you try to open Acrobat and observe what other programs interact with it.
