Acrobat Pro DC Win10 - Error 16

Hello folks,

I'm attempting to assist a colleague setting up a new computer. She has a license for Acrobat Pro DC (Serial Number). On a new Windows 10 Enterprise machine, I downloaded the latest installer from Download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC, XI, or X. We successfully installed it and entered her serial number. She was able to enter her Adobe ID in the registration screen, but she cannot start the program now. She gets the following Error 16 message:

[removed - kglad]

I've already found and followed the instructions at Configuration error in Adobe Creative Cloud. Permissions were already set correctly for both locations. I uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat DC, but the same error remains. I also tried running Acrobat DC from within the local administrator account and received the same error.

This is not a CC subscription user. She has a standalone license code. What else should we be checking? FYI, her colleague received a new machine at the same time; same hardware, OS, and app configuration. I was able to install Acrobat Pro DC for her with no problems.

Thanks,

Chris

I'll try that, but I'm also tracking down a potential conflict with Dell DDPE I found in another post: Get error 16 after reinstalling Acrobat Pro DC . I'll update if that works.

that link is a 404 (and looks screwy) so i removed it.

use the control panel to uninstall all reader and acrobat versions.

clean per Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

restart the computer

right click the installer and click 'run as administrator'.

Dell DDPE was the problem. Error has resolved after adding exceptions according to the linked post.
